6 steps to giving life to your brand’s Facebook fan page in 2011

February 14, 2011deolaUncategorized1 comment

Create a custom Facebook fan page

Yes this is my first anger, please get a customized Facebook page and not a personal page, some brands are guilty of this. Creative fan pages dot the international pages and some are really cool. The aim is to maintain a differentiation in the minds of you target audience.

Appoint a Community Manager

If it is your personal business, you may want to do this yourself. When it comes to brig brands you might need to appoint an agency or simply get an

in-house employee to manage your social media efforts.

Use Facebook Ads

Using Facebook ads to promote your fan page is not money wasted. Facebook ads are fast becoming a way to get your brand and product at relative low cost to e the traditional media price. Facebook Ads offer the advantage of being targeted.  When a new user signs up for a Facebook account, they must insert and Facebook Ads uses this data for advertisers to target potential customers.

Launch Social Campaigns

Unlike media campaigns, Facebook campaigns are actually promotions that get Facebook users to take action and reap benefits. This is the easiest and most measurable aspect of throwing activity into your Facebook page.

Give Content

“Content is king”, is the common cliché and it cannot be more true in social media marketing. Fans and potential customers need to continually be fed with something new to get them to comment and relate with the brand’s fan page. Provide information that is valuable to your customers. Post videos, stories, fact and figures, your product, office and event post a story; provide an interesting or cool fact.

Provoke discussions

Facebook pages have a discussion tab already associated with the page. This is an excellent opportunity for a business to share initiate discussions and ask questions to engage those that “like” them. This tab will be great for posting contests and initiating discussions.
