ENTHUSIASM- the fire within

January 17, 2008deolalifeNo comments

Enthusiasm is a force multiplier. It is the antidote to procrastination, and laxity. As we move towards a largely empowered population, it will not matter what men drive, what becomes more important will be what rives them and in what direction. The world will make a way for the enthusiastic, “good luck” will always be waiting for him who is hardworking and enthusiastic. Nothing is as contagious as enthusiasm, it makes people listen, imitators will stand aside, it moves stones; truth and wisdom will accomplish little without it.

But then, what is the use of speed without direction? Why be enthusiastic when we are not sure of the direction we are headed or the possibility of success? Enthusiasm is faith in action. It is the demonstration of our belief in the desire that is within our heart. Enthusiasm is what remains after the excitement of attending a conference, starting a business, finding true love, discovering a good idea- it is what sustain the accomplishment of our goals, unwavering, steady and firm.

One may have extraordinary talents, uncommon skills and potent abilities, but they all need the miracle of enthusiasm to be able to accomplish anything of importance. People who have powerfully influenced the world have been men of character, and great convictions, with an enduring irresistible enthusiasm.

We need a shot of this to be able to fufill our aims and goals in life. I like very much the illustration by Jack Perkowski, the chairman and CEO of ASIMCO Technologies, an American auto parts manufacturer in

China, posted the following African proverb on his factory floor:Every morning in

Africa, a gazelle wakes up.It knows it must run faster than the fastest lion or it will be killed.Every morning a lion wakes up.It knows it must outrun the slowest gazelle or it will starve to death. It doesn’t matter whether you are a lion or a gazelle. When the sun comes up, you better start running.

This sums up the disposition of the average

Cultivating enthusiasm and motivation

1.      Draw the line and jump!Have you actually decided to live an accurate life? Have you actually committed yourself to fulfilling the

2. Surround yourself with positive motivators and people.

Enthusiasm is contagious, so is discouragement and laziness. The age long cliché says that show me your friend is your friend and I will tell you who you are, but I say show me your friend and I can predict your future. It is all a matter of those we associate with. Those who do not choose their friends will lose.

Thus surround yourself with reasonable optimists, things, books and pictures that bring the reality of our desires closer to us. Keep close to people understand you, who believe in you, who will help you discover yourself and encourage you make the best out of you. This may be the only difference between a great success and a mediocre mind.

3. Never procrastinate

Procrastination is the thief of time. To be a person of uncommon enthusiasm, you must form the habit of aggressively and persistently following the object of your desires. All else may be dwarfed by the need to wait for the right time, but we will never get anything done. Every time we procrastinate, we lose the strength to touch the peak

Don’t stop don’t look around, go for it. What we get out of life is a reflection of what we put into it. It is a mirror that reflects the faces we make up.
